Everything's cool, your bishop has canonized No-Fault divorce.

    Only the MERE civil effects belong to the state, the rest belongs to the Church because it flows directly from the essence of marriage. We might as well "canonize" everything the state does so as to avoid conflict. How about civil abortion laws?
